Frequently Asked Questions

What is microneedling ?

Microneedling is a treatment performed with a pen-shaped device equipped with very fine needles in order to create very small lesions on the skin surface. These lesions generate a regenerative reaction and have a stimulating effect on skin cells, which tend to slow down their activity over time. A treatment course of multiple sessions helps to reduce irregularities such as enlarged pores, acne scars or stretch marks. A maintenance or regular session helps to maintain a good skin quality by stimulating the production of collagen.

What happens during a session ?

Although microneedling uses small needles, it is a less invasive procedure than injection treatments. It is not painful and not dangerous. During the treatment, the fine needles pass over the skin surface in order to elicit the regenerative reaction of the skin. The treatment causes very small bleeding and temporary redness, but does not cause swelling or bruising. A treatment course consists of 4 sessions with an interval of 4 weeks between the sessions. A maintenance session is usually performed every 3 months, but can also be performed every month if necessary.

What is a nanopeeling ?

A nanopeeling is the combination of a superficial peeling with microdermabrasion to associate the effects of a chemical exfoliation to a soft mechanical exfoliation. Exfoliation can serve to remove the dead skin cells from the skin surface. This brightens the skin, but also stimulates skin renewal. By removing the dead layer of the skin, the skin loses a barrier, which stimulates the production of new cells and improves skin quality. A treatment course of multiple sessions helps to smooth the skin texture and brighten dull skin. A maintenance or regular session helps to maintain good skin quality by stimulating cell renewal.

What happens during a session ?

First, the superficial peeling is applied to the skin for a few minutes. The peeling consists of AHAs (fruit acids), BHAs (ideal in presence of acne) and PHAs (suitable for sensitive skin). Then the microdermabrasion device passes over the skin in order to mechanically scrape away the dead layer of the skin. It is not dangerous, but cannot be performed in case of an allergy to any of the components of the peeling. The treatment is not painful, but causes a feeling of light tingling accompanied by a temporary redness. A treatment course consists of 4 sessions with an interval of 4 weeks between the sessions. A maintenance session can be considered every 1 to 3 months.

What is a classic peeling ?

The purpose of a peeling is to chemically exfoliate or remove certain layers of the skin. A superficial peeling removes the superficial skin layer to brighten the skin tone and stimulate cell renewal. The peeling consists of AHAs, BHAs and PHAs. A medium peeling removes the superficial and middle layer of the skin, causing the skin to peel so that a new skin with a better skin quality replaces the old one. Moderate wrinkles, pigmentation spots or scars are good indications. The peeling consists of TCA and phenol in very low concentrations. A deep peeling removes all layers of the skin to remove severe wrinkles and deep scars. Because a deep peeling is much more aggressive and involves more risks, it is usually replaced by multiple, consecutive medium peelings.

What happens during a session ?

The adequate peeling is applied to the skin for a few minutes until the desired reaction is obtained. The peeling is then rinsed and a specific cream is applied. The treatment is not painful, but causes a feeling of warmth and light tingling accompanied by a slight redness. The skin peels for several days after a medium or deep peeling, but usually not after a superficial peeling. Possible complications are related to the depth of the peeling : the deeper the peeling, the greater the risks, such as the risk of infection, pigmentation disorders, burns or scars. Usually a treatment course consists of 4 peelings with an interval of 1 to 4 weeks between the sessions. Afterwards, a maintenance session every 1 to 3 months can be considered depending on the needs.

What is a bio-revitalizing peeling ?

The PRX-T33 treatment is similar to a medium peeling, but is characterized by the fact that the skin does not peel after the treatment. In fact, this peeling directly stimulates the middle layer of the skin, while the superficial layer remains intact. PRX-T33 can be considered as an anti-aging treatment that stimulates collagen production and cell renewal and thus helps to improve skin quality. The treatment is suitable for sagging skin and stretch marks. This peeling contains TCA, H2O2 and kojic acid.

What happens during a session ?

The bio-revitalizing solution is applied to the skin and massaged rigorously in order to penetrate the active ingredients from the skin surface to the middle layer of skin. Multiple applications are performed until the desired response is reached. The peeling is then rinsed and a specific cream is applied. The treatment is not painful, but causes a feeling of warmth and light tingling accompanied by a slight redness. After treatment, the skin does not peel, but shows strong dehydration. It is necessary to apply a moisturizing cream several times a day after treatment. It is not dangerous, but cannot be performed in case of an allergy to any of the components of the peeling. A treatment course consists of 4 to 6 peelings with an interval of 1 to 2 weeks between the sessions. Afterwards, a maintenance session every 3 months can be considered.

Exosomes ?

Exosomes are among the latest innovations in regenerative medicine. These are small particles originating from stem cells with interesting properties : they not only have a stimulating effect on skin cells, but also have the ability to repair, regenerate and even rejuvenate skin cells ! In addition, because they are such small particles, the exosomes can easily pass through the skin barrier so that they do not have to be injected. The main indications for a treatment with exosomes are skin aging and scars.

What happens during a session ?

The treatment consists of applying exosomes to the skin. To ensure that the particles penetrate the skin well, the skin is subsequently treated with microneedling. Treatment is not painful and not dangerous. The treatment causes very small bleeding and a temporary redness. A treatment course consists of 4 sessions with an interval of 4 to 6 weeks between the sessions. Afterwards, a maintenance session every 3 months can be considered.
